Backed by Alibaba, Youku written as 优酷 (yōu kù) in Simplified Chinese, is one of the most popular Chinese online video streaming platforms and apps in China. For any Chinese or Inter fans, it supports viewing, uploading and sharing all kinds of Chinese TV series, web dramas, co-/self-produced varieties, online films, live streams, and more via PC, mobile (including mobile phones and portable), and TV devices.

Regretfully, Youku hasn't yet given a pure Youku English release or Youku International version of the app for inter-fans at the current. Although most people can search by the keyword "Youku" and then the Youku app would pop out of the App Store, this app is wrapped in Chinese which is certainly difficult for people who can't understand the Chinese language.

How to Register Youku For Inter Fans via Mobiles

Take an iPhone as an example. The steps to register a Youku account for inter-fans are quite similar on other mobile devices.

Step 01. Search & Install Youku

步骤一：搜索并安装 [ān zhuāng yìng yòng]

The app could be found in Apple's App Store by searching its name "youku" or copying & pasting it in Chinese 优酷. Then click the "Get" button to install the right Youku app which displays a blue-red logo similar to a horizontal-rotated v shape, the initial letter of the English word "video" implying a video-streaming app it is.

• 跳过 - (tiào guò) - to Skip in Standard Chinese (Putonghua, aka. Standard Mandarin).
• 进入 - (jìn rù) - the Enter in Standard Chinese (Putonghua).
• 我的 - (wǒ de) - means Mine in Standard Chinese (Putonghua), indicating to go to User Profile within the app.
• 首页 - (shǒu yè) - indicates the Main page in Standard Chinese (Putonghua).
• 青少年模式 - (qīng shàg nián mó shì) - the Teen Mode in Standard Chinese (Putonghua).
• 我知道了 - (wǒ zhī dào le) - means I got it in Standard Chinese (Putonghua).
• 关闭 - (guān bì) - to Close in Standard Chinese (Putonghua), often indicating to close the pop-ups or dialogs with a close icon in the app.

Step 02. Trigger Youku Rgister / Login Entry

步骤二：注册/登录入口 [Zhù cè rù kǒu]

After entering the normal mode of Youku app (defaultly the main page), go straightly the "User Profile" page by tapping 我的 (wǒ de) at the right bottom navigation menu.

进入普通模式下的优酷界面后（默认为首页），直接点击底部右下角“我的”菜单进入用户个人中心页面，从这里“登录/注册”。

Currently, there are eight supporting methods to register a Youku account (sign-up) and login, as below:

从当前界面来看，优酷提供了八种注册及登录优酷的办法，如下：

• A. 淘宝登录 - (táo bǎo dēng lù) - Use an existing Taobao ID to login to Youku or register a new Youku account.
• B. 支付宝登录 - (zhī fù bǎo dēng lù) - Use an existing Alipay Account to login to Youku or register a new Youku account.
• C. 手机号（验证码）登录 - (shǒu jī hào yàn zhèng mǎ dēng lù) - Use a valid Mobile Phone Number verified with a Verification code received via message to login or register a new Youku account.
• D. 账号密码登录 - (zhàng hào mì mǎ dēng lù) - Use a Youku Account (usually an Email address or a valid phone number) plus Password to login or register a new Youku account.
• E. 微信号登录 - (wēi xìn hào dēng lù) - Use an existing WeChat Account to login or register a new Youku account.
• F. QQ 登录 - (QQ dēng lù) - Use an existing QQ ID to login or register a new Youku account.
• G. 微博账号登录 - (wēi bó zhàng hào dēng lù) - Use an existing Weibo Account to login or register a new Youku account.
• F. 苹果账号登录 - (píng guǒ zhàng hào dēng lù) - Use an existing Apple ID to login or register a new Youku account.

It's noted that the last six registration/login methods will be collapsed by default. You can tap the text button like 更多方式登录 (more methods for login) to expand and display them all.

Step 03. Register a Youku Account via M-Verification As an Example

As a widely-supported method in Chinese mainland, we'll take the mobile phone number's verification to register a Youku account as an example.

以下步骤，以手机号验证的办法注册优酷账号为例，这种注册方式在中国大陆地区最常见。

After tapping the mobile icon or text button 手机号注册 (Sign up via mobile) from the pop-up above, if you are new to this app, then you'll see the mobile phone sign-up page.

点击以上弹窗中的手机图标或“手机号注册”的文字按钮后，新用户将跳转至用手机号注册的界面。
